In the Wake of Stillness
Every idea, every moment, every story — it all begins with a single thread of fate waiting to be woven into something beautiful.
Years ago, I first found myself drawn to this work, centering my business around coordinating details and witnessing moments that stitched meaning into memory. Even when life carried me elsewhere for a time, my heart never let go. Though I am, in a sense, picking up where I left off, this marks the beginning of an entirely new tapestry.
This coming season is following an extended moment of stillness and quiet reflection. During that pause — time I devoted to focusing inward — my spirit began to stir at both old memories and new ideas. In the space between what was and what now feels meant to be, something altogether different began to take shape: a calling that it was time to move forward, but to do so with deeper intention and a softer, yet more profound, sense of purpose.

From that ever-so-gentle calling, Kindred Unions came to be. Not as a reworked business idea, but, instead, as a reconnection to an art I fell in love with long ago. It is a beacon: a soft guiding light leading me down a path where every sound, every crisp breeze, and every intentional whisper that brushes past carries the echo of a deeper purpose I have spent years listening for.
Kindred Unions is a true manifestation of my desire to do more with the gifts I’ve been given and the passions that move through me. It is not merely a name attached to a service. It is a sacred space where all forms of union can be explored and honored: the union between two souls; the union within one’s own heart, reconnecting spirit and self; and the union of a departing soul with what awaits beyond the veil.
And so, Kindred Unions begins — not as a continuation, but as a rebirth.

Where Spirit Meets Purpose
Becoming something new in the face of what once was is never an easy transition. It carries with it the risk of holding on to past mistakes that no longer serve the journey ahead, or failing to weave the lessons learned into the path forward.
Yet within that tension lies the subtle beauty of transformation — the moment when reflection begins to move, and what once felt like loss becomes light. It was in this delicate space that spirit met purpose, and Kindred Unions found its true form. What started as an acknowledgement that returning to the wedding and event industry was a desire I could no longer ignore, unfolded into a clear map toward a dream first imagined in 2016. Ideas from years ago began finding their place again, reshaping themselves with new meaning.
The feeling was reminiscent of a moment during my high school art class when we were instructed to make a collage from magazine clippings and our own drawings. When I presented what I had created, I detailed the story that my piece was telling, to which my instructor explained that I had turned a simple combination of pictures into a complete art piece by giving it flow and meaning through the imagery I chose. That wasn’t what I fully intended from the start, but it came together naturally, the clippings seeming to arrange themselves and piece my story together with ease.
It’s the same truth I’m realizing now. I’m holding threads of ideas I once thought were separate — some simply stepping stones toward a single goal — yet they’ve begun to weave themselves together into a complete picture of what Kindred Unions can be. It has become the embodiment of every dream and intention blending in harmony, not only guiding me toward my professional goals, but allowing me to truly help others along the way.
In stillness I found my spirit. In spirit, I found my purpose. The next step is presence: how I show up, listen, and hold space for every story entrusted to me. Because what gives meaning to the work isn’t the pieces themselves, but the story they tell together.
Guided by Presence
Purpose alone can be a powerful motivator. Yet, purpose without presence can lead to becoming lost or losing focus on the meaning behind it all. Learning to pause, breathe, listen, and truly embrace each moment, taking in even the smallest details, has become my definition of being present.
As families and friends gather, I take a few moments to observe the space and breathe in the energy that fills it. I embrace it all, waiting for that final pause when everyone is preparing for the ceremony to begin. It’s during that quiet moment that I feel the shift — the subtle stillness before intention becomes action, where spirit moves through the room and purpose takes form.

Every offering within Kindred Unions is rooted in that same sense of presence — in weaving threads of spirit and intention through every meeting, every ceremony, and each whispered moment of transformation. Together, they become something larger: moments that honor the soul of every story and remind me why I was called to this work in the first place.
Presence allows me to see people — not just their plans or their roles, but their emotions, energy, and stories. It creates a calm where others can breathe, be themselves, and know they are held in a space that respects who they are and what they’re walking through. That is why this act alone is the most profound act of service I can offer — a quiet devotion to simply be there, allowing meaning to unfold in its own time.

An Open Invitation
I have spent the past five years in silent self-reflection. I followed the whispers that helped me rediscover my own spirit. I listened to my soul and found my purpose. Over time, I’ve come to see that every story I once held space for also taught me how to live mine more fully. I watched as the pieces fell into place, and the threads of my story became Kindred Unions.
And now, I invite you all to join me.
Wherever you are in your own story, Kindred Unions is a space for you to be heard, felt, and seen. Through life’s great passages — love, transformation, growth, loss, and return — you will be accepted and guided through your most precious moments with a calm and gentle spirit.
My greatest wish is for your story to unfold in its own rhythm — guided by presence, grounded in purpose, and held by spirit. And if our paths are meant to meet, may it be in a moment of meaning — one that feels like coming home.
